Florida Stage's educational mission mirrors its mainstage mission— producing new work that is thought-provoking, issue-oriented, and original. Florida Stage's educational initiative is a series of programs designed to provide students with outstanding participatory experiences in drama and theatre. The programs encourage creativity, self-expression, and personal development while contributing to school curriculum goals.
Young Voices Monologue Festival November 8, 2010 7:00 PM Local students in grades 7-12 write and perform original monologues in this annual event that always delights and surpises. This event is free and open to the public. Entry deadline is October 1, 2010. Click HERE for more info.
Young Playwrights Festival March 28, 2011 at 7:00 PM Students in grades K-12, submit original plays for a chance to win prizes, becomed published authors, and watch professional actors bring their stories to life. Gen Z Global Stage May 9, 2011 7:00 PM Under the guidance of a professional playwright and filmmaker Robert Goodrich, Palm Beach County students will cultivate a web dialogue with young people across the world-discovering how social issues tie our human experiences to each other. Their web-based exchange will culminate in a multi-media theatrical piece as unique as its participants. Click HERE for more info.
Florida Stage Young Playwrights Mentor Lab May 17, 2011 7:00 PM Led by Florida Stage's Playwright-in-Residence Andrew Rosendorf, promising local student playwrights craft original scripts to be performed by professional actors in a staged reading. Click HERE for more info.

Educator and Student Discounts Educators receive half-price tickets (limit two per play) with proof of employment. Students with valid I.D. can reserve tickets in advance for $10, for $5 at the door the night of the performance.
