1960 Election Footage

Much of Dirty Business takes place during the presidential campaign of 1960. Revisit some of the highlights of John F. Kennedy’s historic path to the White House in the videos below.

January 3, 1960: Kennedy appears on Meet the Press the day after he announces his candidacy for President of the United States.

July 15, 1960: Kennedy accepts the presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention.

 

September 26, 1960: Kennedy faces Richard Nixon in the first general election presidential debate ever.




October 16, 1960: Kennedy appears on Meet the Press less than four weeks before Election Day.


January 20, 1961: Kennedy gives his inaugural address, including the famous line, "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country."
