FurtherMore: Two Jews Walk Into a War...

Two Jews, Zeblyan and Ishaq, walk into a war. The punchline? The biggest battle is the one between them. This is the premise for Seth Rozin’s funny and poignant new play, and it’s based on a true story. In 2001, when NATO forces removed the Taliban from power in Afghanistan, the world was introduced to Zebulon and Isaac, the last remnants of what had once been a vibrant Jewish Afghan community. Living together in Kabul’s only synagogue, the men despised each other, feuding loudly, publicly and without any clear reason.
