Florida Stage's educational mission mirrors its mainstage mission - producing new work that is thought-provoking, issue-oriented, and original. Florida Stage's educational initiative is a series of programs designed to provide students with outstanding participatory experiences in drama and theatre. The programs encourage creativity, self-expression, and personal development while contributing to school curriculum goals.

Young Voices Monologue Festival November 19, 2007 7:00 PM Palm Beach County's most talented teens do it all: create, write and perform. This event is free and open to the public. Tickets are available on a first-come, first- served basis – no reservation necessary.
Young Playwrights Festival March 31, 2008 7:00 PM Open to Palm Beach County students in grades K-12, the assignment is simple: dream it up, then write it down. Selected scripts will receive a staged reading and will be published in the festival anthology. This event is free and open to the public. Tickets are available on a first-come, first served basis – no reservation necessary.
Children of Conflict: The G-Star School of the Arts International Collaborative April 21, 2008 7:00 PM Under the guidance of a professional filmmaker and playwright, students at G-Star will cultivate a dialogue via a special website with young people abroad about their experiences growing up in regions touched by conflict. ASSITEJ, the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People, will assist in connecting the G-Star students with students in Eastern Europe and Africa. Their exchange will culminate in the collaborative creation of a multi-media theatrical performance to be performed at Florida Stage by students from G-Star School of the Arts.
Royal Palm Project May 17, 2008 2:00 PM Students with disabilities from Royal Palm School in Lantana work with Florida Stage professionals to develop an original theatre piece that is presented at the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse. (Tickets will be available through the Kravis Center box office.) Student Matinee Series Teachers, bring your classes to see what's new in American theatre! The series includes study guides with lessons linked to the Sunshine State Standards, pre- and post-show workshops in your classroom and a Talkback discussion with the cast following each performance. Educator and Student Discounts Educators receive half-price tickets (limit two per play) with proof of employment. Students with valid I.D. can reserve tickets in advance for $10, for $5 at the door the night of the performance.
Discount is subject to availability and must be mentioned at beginning of purchase. Proof of employment must be presented at time of payment or when tickets are picked up. This discount cannot be combined with any other discounts, special offers, or coupons and does not apply to previously purchased tickets.
